I am a Faculty Mentor in the Information Technology program at Western Governors University. My primary research is concentrated on legal issues related to emerging technology. Forensic analysis of novel devices and methodologies is an area that has traditionally presented challenges to law enforcement agencies and one aspect of the research I pursue is in an effort to promote understanding that though the techniques or tools may be new, the crimes are the same and the digital traces of suspected criminal activity can be reasoned logically from known base platforms and applications.

My principal focus for the past few months has been virtualization technologies at different levels of the system/user interface including Application Virtualization, Resource Virtualization, and Full System Virtualization. My involvement with DFF began with meeting Marian in Monaco in 2005 at a conference. I look forwrad to the opportunity to bring together practical researchers and field practioners to share knowledge, insight, and experience and promote a sounder methodology for digital forensic investigation.
